ACEH TAMIANG — Dealing with inherited assets can be a challenging process for families who have lost a loved one. Beyond the emotional burden, the process of securing heirs’ rights often involves a number of legal and administrative procedures that must be properly fulfilled.
In response to this situation, Chairman of the DPC Badan Advokasi Indonesia (BAI) Aceh Tamiang, Syamsul, assigned Dewi Kartika, S.H., Deputy Head of the Legal and Human Rights Division, to provide assistance to Ramadani, a resident of Sriwijaya Village, Kota Kualasimpang District, Aceh Tamiang.
The assistance was provided in connection with the settlement of the heirship determination process concerning the withdrawal of savings belonging to the late Nuridah at Bank Aceh Syariah Aceh Tamiang.
The legal assistance was aimed at helping the family understand the administrative procedures and required documents related to establishing and verifying the parties legally entitled to the deceased’s assets. DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang also encouraged all procedures to be carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
The assistance process concerning Ramadani’s heirship matter was completed on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
Inheritance matters are not merely about property. Behind them are family rights, relationships among heirs, and the responsibility to ensure that every process is handled properly so as not to create further disputes in the future.
In matters involving funds held at a banking institution, legal certainty regarding who is entitled to receive or administer the deceased’s assets is an important element. Therefore, determining the rightful heirs is a significant stage before the related banking administration can be completed in accordance with applicable requirements.
DPC BAI Aceh Tamiang emphasized that the assistance provided was part of its effort to improve public access to legal assistance and understanding, particularly for families facing legal or administrative issues following the death of a family member.
With appropriate assistance, families are expected to be able to navigate the process in a more organized and orderly manner while complying with applicable legal mechanisms. BAI Aceh Tamiang also stressed the importance of prioritizing deliberation and ensuring that all parties with legitimate rights are treated in accordance with the law.
The case demonstrates that legal issues within the community do not necessarily have to lead to conflict. Through proper assistance, communication, and adherence to legal procedures, matters concerning inheritance rights can be directed toward a resolution that provides greater certainty for all parties involved.
