ACEH TAMIANG — Support for new figures entering the race for Chairman of the Aceh Tamiang Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) is beginning to emerge. Mustakim, S.Ud., M.H., Chairman of the Aceh Tamiang Regency Association of Islamic Preachers (Ikatan Dai), has expressed his support for Hendriko Lubis, Chairman of PERKEMI Aceh Tamiang, to enter the list of potential candidates for KONI Chairman.
The support was conveyed via WhatsApp to Wartajurnalisnews.com journalist Saut Simanjuntak on Sunday (September 20, 2026).
Mustakim considers Hendriko deserving of an opportunity to present his ideas and programs as part of the regeneration of KONI leadership. His support adds another dimension to the political and organizational dynamics ahead of the Aceh Tamiang KONI Musorkab.
Hendriko has previously expressed his readiness to participate in the candidacy process once the official stages and organizational mechanisms are opened. As Chairman of PERKEMI Aceh Tamiang, he has also promoted the idea of sustainable and measurable athlete development, with greater attention to the needs of athletes and sports organizations.
However, Mustakim’s statement represents support for Hendriko’s candidacy and is not the final result of the election. The official candidates and the eventual Chairman of KONI Aceh Tamiang will be determined through the organization’s established mechanisms and the Musorkab forum.
